Terms of service
This website is operated by Indonesian Rare Plants. By visiting our site or purchasing from us, you agree to these terms.
Overview
We sell rare, collector-grade aroid plants sourced directly from growers in West Java, Indonesia, and ship them worldwide. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction and that the information you give us is accurate.
Our plants
Every listing is a single, specific plant. The photograph shows the actual specimen you will receive. When a plant sells, the listing is removed.
Living plants change. Between photography and dispatch a plant may grow, produce a new leaf, or drop an older one. Variegation patterns can shift as a plant matures, and a new leaf may be more or less variegated than the one pictured. This is the nature of living material and is not a defect. Colours may also appear differently on different screens; we photograph in natural light and do not enhance variegation.
Pricing and availability
Prices are in USD and may change without notice. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including where a plant has been listed in error, priced in error, or is no longer viable for export. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we refund it in full.
Orders and payment
Payment is taken at checkout. An order is confirmed when you receive our confirmation email. We may contact you if we need to verify details before exporting.
Shipping, returns and import responsibilities
Our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy form part of these terms. In summary: processing takes approximately 16 days before dispatch; we do not accept returns or exchanges on living plants; claims for a wrong, dead-on-arrival or lost plant must be made within 48 hours of delivery with photographs; and you are the importer of record, responsible for any duties, taxes and import permits your country requires.
Plant care and suitability
Rare aroids are not beginner houseplants. Information we publish, including our care guides, is general guidance offered in good faith and is not a guarantee of any particular result. Growing conditions vary enormously and we cannot be responsible for how a plant performs after it arrives with you. We do not warrant that any plant will thrive in your specific conditions.
Plant safety
Many aroids are toxic if eaten and their sap can irritate skin and eyes. Keep them away from children and pets, and wash your hands after handling or pruning.
Naming and accuracy
We work hard to describe plants accurately, including botanical naming. Rare aroid taxonomy is genuinely contested and trade names are often inconsistent between growers. We name plants as our growers name them, in good faith.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer where those apply.
Prohibited uses
You may not use this site for any unlawful purpose, to infringe our intellectual property, to submit false information, or to interfere with the security of the site.
Intellectual property
All photographs, text and design on this site belong to Indonesian Rare Plants. Our plant photographs are taken by us, of our own stock. Please do not reuse them without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Indonesia. Where you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms at any time. The version published on this page at the time of your order is the version that applies to it.
